Which Hunger Games Character Are You? Take the Quiz

The Hunger Games is set in Panem, a country of districts that work to sustain the luxuries of the Capitol. In District 12, the humblest of them, Katniss Everdeen provides for her family with whatever she finds in the woods, and her life changes when she volunteers in place of her little sister, Prim. Around her are Peeta, the baker's son, Gale, her lifelong friend, the sardonic Haymitch, the impeccable Effie, the charismatic Finnick and Cinna, a stylist who speaks through clothes.

This quiz asks nothing about scenes or plot details, and you can take it without having read the books or watched the films. The situations are everyday ones with a touch of Panem, like choosing an outfit for a parade, sharing food among the neighborhood's families or answering questions in an interview in front of an audience. From your answers, it works out which character you resemble in the way you act.

Answer all sixteen questions thinking about what you would really do, not about the character you would like to get. So, which Hunger Games character are you? You find out at the end, along with the traits you share, their strengths and their weak spots. It is suitable for all ages and does not give away how the story ends.

Robyrix tests are tools for self-knowledge and entertainment. They are not a clinical diagnosis and do not replace a professional assessment.

How this character test works

The quiz does not measure what you know about the saga, but how you behave in a group. Each answer is linked to one or two characters and adds points to them according to the trait it shows, such as protective instinct, kindness, rebellion against injustice, irony, a taste for order, compassion, charm or creativity. All eight characters appear the same number of times and can reach the same maximum, so none starts with an advantage. At the end your points are added up and you see the character at the top of your ranking next to the rest. If two finish close, you have a bit of each.

Characters you can get

Katniss Everdeen

If you got Katniss Everdeen, you are the kind of person who doesn't look for the spotlight but steps forward when someone you love needs it. You have a highly developed practical sense, you make do with little and you trust what you do more than what you say. It's hard for you to put feelings into words and you distrust anyone who hands out compliments too soon, so you sometimes seem more distant than you are. Your loyalty, on the other hand, has no cracks. When you see something unfair you don't need speeches to stand your ground, and that plain courage ends up inspiring people you never knew were watching you.

Peeta Mellark

If you got Peeta Mellark, you have a way with words and a kindness that shows right away. You know how to calm someone who is nervous, find the right sentence at the right moment and make people feel heard. You also have a creative streak that comes out in the kitchen, with a paintbrush or when decorating anything with patience. Your weak spot is that you put others first so easily that you sometimes forget what you need yourself. Your greatest strength is staying who you are in settings that try to change you, which is why others know they can count on you.

Gale Hawthorne

If you got Gale Hawthorne, your sense of justice doesn't fade easily. It angers you to see a few pile up privileges while others get by as best they can, and you don't keep quiet about it. You are hardworking, protective of your family and very loyal to your friends, the kind who drop everything to lend a hand. Your energy carries others along, though at times it makes you impatient or has you seeing things in black and white, with no middle ground. When you learn to channel that strength with some calm and to listen to other points of view, you can move a whole group toward something better.

Haymitch Abernathy

If you got Haymitch Abernathy, you use irony as a shield and also as a tool. You give the impression that nothing matters to you, you toss out biting remarks and you prefer your own company to social gatherings. Anyone who knows you knows it's all a front. You watch in silence, understand how things work and make your move at the right moment. Showing affection directly is hard for you, but you protect your people with a cunning almost nobody suspects. Your advice arrives unwrapped and sometimes stings, yet it usually hits the mark, and people end up looking for you when things get complicated.

Effie Trinket

If you got Effie Trinket, you value order, good manners and things done properly. You like everything to go as planned, you arrive early and you notice details that don't even cross other people's minds, from clothes to the way someone greets you. You have an optimism all your own and an energy that brightens any plan, although you sometimes give appearances more weight than they deserve. The best of you shows over time, when you grow fond of your people and prove that your enthusiasm was sincere and that they matter to you far more than you let on at first.

Primrose Everdeen

If you got Primrose Everdeen, you have a compassion that shows in every gesture. You notice who is having a hard time, you look after people and animals with great patience and you have a knack for calming anyone. Some see you as fragile because of your gentleness, and they're wrong, because when it matters you show a serenity and composure that surprise. You are drawn to learning how to heal and help, and you put that talent at others' service expecting nothing back. You may find it hard at times to think of yourself, but your kindness is exactly what holds the people around you together.

Finnick Odair

If you got Finnick Odair, you have a natural charm that opens many doors. You move with ease in public, you know how to make a good impression and you turn an awkward conversation into a pleasant moment. Plenty of people stop at that shiny surface and never see what lies beneath. Behind the smile is someone sensitive, loyal and very protective of the people they love, though only a small circle knows that side. You have learned to use your image intelligently without letting it define you completely. When you let your guard down with someone you trust, you show a tenderness and a humor worth more than any appearance.

Cinna

If you got Cinna, you are a calm, creative person who says little and means a lot. You have good taste, a feel for details and the knack of turning something simple into something nobody forgets. You don't get swept along by the extravagance around you. You prefer restraint and believe beauty should mean something. You can see the best in each person and help them show it with confidence. Your way of rebelling is discreet and shows in what you create and how you treat people. You pass calm on to those who are nervous, and your quiet support leaves a mark on those who work beside you.

Frequently asked questions about the character test

How many questions are in the Hunger Games quiz?

It has sixteen questions with four answers each and takes a few minutes to complete. They all describe everyday or group situations, so there are no right or wrong answers. The more honest your choices, the closer the result will be to who you are.

Do I need to have read the books or seen the films?

No. The questions are not about the plot or what each character does in the saga, but about how you react to an argument, a challenge or a chore nobody wants. If you know the story you will enjoy the result more, though it isn't needed to answer.

Which characters can I get?

You can get Katniss Everdeen, Peeta Mellark, Gale Hawthorne, Haymitch Abernathy, Effie Trinket, Primrose Everdeen, Finnick Odair or Cinna. All eight carry the same weight in the quiz, so any of them can be your result depending on how you answer.

How does the quiz work out which Hunger Games character I am?

Each answer adds points to one or two characters depending on the personality trait it reflects. At the end the quiz compares the totals and gives you the character with the most points. You also see how the others ranked, which helps you see who else you share traits with.

Is this an official Hunger Games quiz?

No. It is an entertainment quiz made by fans of the saga, with no connection to Lionsgate, the author of the books or their publishers. The character names are used only as a reference, and the result is a lighthearted portrait of your personality, not a psychological assessment.

Does the quiz give away anything about the story?

No. The questions and results focus on each character's personality and avoid any detail about how the saga unfolds or ends. You can take it even if you're halfway through the books or the films, and it is suitable for all ages.
